About the work
All my pottery is individually handmade, either on or off the wheel. I am currently using red earthenware clay with a variety of lead-free glazes. All of my pieces are food-safe, microwave- and oven-safe. You can put them in the dishwasher, though it's not recommended for the long-term durability of your pottery.
Ethos & sustainability
All the clay used is vegan and my studio practices are designed to be as environmentally-friendly as possible. All my packaging is paper-based and recyclable. The occasional bubble-wrap you might find has been recycled.
When will your shop be updated?
Pottery is a cyclical process, that doesn't really work in the traditional always-open model. I update the shop all at once, about 4 times per year. To get notified about the next update, sign up to my mailing list here.
You can pick up from my studio in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen. Please write me at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
Moss Keramik ships worldwide!
I ship worldwide via Deutsche Post with tracking & insurance. Once the package enters your country, it is transferred to your national shipping service (e.g. USPS) and the tracking number should be transferred with it.
Moss Keramik is not responsible for items lost in the mail. Moss Keramik is not responsible for tolls, taxes, or other fees that might apply in the receiver's country.
I am currently looking for stockists within Europe. Please write me at email@example.com if you are interested in stocking my work. Please note that the minimium production time is about one month (and more depending on the quantity of pieces).
I (Mia Moss) will always be the instructor of your class unless otherwise stated.
How should I prepare for the class?
You do not need to do anything. Bring your ideas if you like, but I will have plenty of examples and instruction to inspire your creativity. Don't wear your finest clothes, as ceramic can be a little dirty!
Where are the classes located?
The classes will be held in Moss Keramik studio located at
What language is the class held in?
The classes are held in English unless otherwise stated.
What is included in the class?
All materials are included in the class. We will be working with red earthenware clay (the same that I use) and you will have a rainbow of glazes to choose from.
How big are the classes?
I keep my class size quite small to give plenty of time & space for individual instruction. Handbuilding & glaze classes are capped at 6 people. Wheel classes are only 3 people.
Purchasing a class as a gift
To purchase a class as a gift, you have two options:
1. buy a class and write the name & email of the recipient in the "notes to seller" line during checkout (don't worry, I won't email the recipient more than a couple days before the class-- this is just to give instructions on how to find the studio and prepare for the class). The recipient can refund or exchange the class if there is a scheduling conflict (see below).
2. purchase a voucher. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to do this. You can do a paypal or bank transfer to pay for this. I put the gifter & recipient's name on a list, and the recipient can reserve a spot in any upcoming class, provided that there is a spot available. Vouchers can be returned for a full refund 14 days after their original purchase.
Class refunds or exchanges
I offer full refunds or exchanges up to one week before the class. After one week, unfortunately there is not enough time to find a replacement for your spot, so I do not offer refunds or exchanges.
The class I want to take is sold out!
Never fear! There will be more. Sign up here to get updates about upcoming classes straight to your inbox.
